This floor in Lesmurdie was laid in 1967.
The client wanted the old tiles cleaned, the old seal stripped off and then resealed again.
It became one of the most difficult and technical jobs we have done, as it involved nearly 250 square metres – including steps, the tiles had a huge amount of lippage (where the tile edges are different heights), missing grout, warped tiles and so on.
This meant that standard machinery and equipment was ineffective and much of the work had to be done by hand.
In the end, over 45 manhours before job completion.
But, the floor looks much better now – the new sealer is still wet in the last pics.
Most importantly, the client was happy with the results.
